If your student loan is through the government you can get an extension. I have friends who graduated in 2007, were laid off or had their wages greatly reduced and they have not paid one cent on their school loan. You can let them know you have a hardship and they will put the payments on hold up to one year, then at the end of the year you can ask again to extend the hardship. The interest will keep piling up, but at least there won't be collection activity against you.
you don't mention what city and state you live, so it's difficult to give you any specifics. You may want to try calling 211 this is a community service that's offered in many areas throughout the USA. They can point you in the direction of places in your area that may be able to offer you some assistance.
Law of Attraction works the same way. The MORE you FOCUS on what you do NOT want Law of Attraction will keep bringing you MORE of WHAT YOU DO NOT WANT because that is what you are FOCUSING on.
You can see proof of this all around the world: In the USA we have a "war against drugs" yet the drug sales keep increasing. We are fighting against terrorism and yet our freedoms keep diminishing and acts of terrorism continue. CA schools rank around 49 out of the 50 states. My point is EVERYTHING we "focus" on keeps coming to us. It's one of the reasons the saying "The rich get richer and the poor get poorer" comes to fruition. It's simple: The rich EXPECT to be rich no matter what the world circumstances and the poor EXPECT to be poor...no matter what the circumstances.
If you want things to get better in your life YOU have to change your outlook on life. I'm not saying this is easy. I used to be such a pessimistic person that I made most pessimists look like optimists. Over the course of a little time with deliberate effort I changed my outlook on things. In my case it's taken about 2 years to have an attitude shift, for you it may be shorter or it may be longer. However, until you make that shift NOTHING will improve in your life.
I'm not suggesting you sing how "happy you are" when you don't have two sticks to rub together, but instead of constantly telling everyone how broke you are or how you can't find a job or how miserable your life is or whatever it is you've been saying for God knows how long, why don't you try focusing on the GOOD that you can find in whatever situation you are currently in?
It helps to just "accept" where you are right now. Please understand there's a difference between "accepting" where you are in life right now and "liking" where you are. Fighting with your current circumstance will NOT change it. Just say to yourself "okay, i don't have a job right now nor the kind of money I would like to have, but that's okay because things are changing around me and I know the Universe (or God or Allah or whoever/whatever you believe in) is working to bring opportunities to me. The "how" isn't my business or concern. I just know that everyday my life is getting better and better."
In addition to thoughts like the above, you may want to find things in your life to APPRECIATE...These don't have to be "big things." They could be anything you really appreciate (and write them down in a notebook or journal). For example in my life a typical journal entry might say:
I am so appreciative that I live in the USA. I appreciate my fiancee who loves me just the way I am and supports my ideas. I appreciate my little toy poodle who shows me unconditional love. I appreciate my good health. I appreciate all the clothes in my closet and my car that takes me from place to place. I appreciate technology like computers, cell phones, and the Internet. I appreciate how everyday my life gets better and better. I appreciate how the Universe lines things up for me without me having to figure out it's going to be done. I appreciate my intellect and quick wit. I appreciate all the friends I have in my life who care about me. I appreciate how more and more money is flowing to me and how much money loves me. I appreciate all my clients and all the clients I have yet to meet. I love and appreciate everything I get to experience in my life each and every day.
See? Nothing earth shattering. Once you find one or two things to appreciate it will start to snowball and you'll find more and more. My goal is write an "appreciation" page 1x per day, but I am not perfect (not yet) :-) I sometimes forget, but that's okay. I just try to write it the next day.
I would bet that if you tried this for 30 days, at the end of the 30 days you'd notice that there were some improvements in your life...even if small improvements...improvements which is better than more heartache. Wouldn't you agree?
Hi Tregla, judging by your phone number you're in Wisconsin. If you are making less than 115% of the poverty level in Wisconsin you'd probably qualify for help from the Wisconsin Dept of Children and families. You can check out more about aid from this group at http://dcf.wi.gov/w2/ You find a Toys for Tots distribution center in your area by going to: http://www.toysfortots.org/request_toys/toys.asp.
You can purchase a weeks worth of food for a family of 4 for only $33.00 from Angel Food Ministries. You can find locations near you at www.angelfoodministries.com. There's still time to order food for December.
You may also want to try calling 211 to find out what other community assistance is available for you.
Business Consulting Services Group in Orange, CA is seeking Independent Contractors to work in Sales/Data Entry during the upcoming tax season. You do NOT need any experience in Tax preparation as CPA's and EA's (Enrolled Agents) will be preparing the actual tax returns. Your job is to recruit people who need to have their taxes prepared and then enter their information into a computer software program. If you do NOT live in the Orange, CA area you can sign up as a contractor but you'll need to have the following office equipment (or access to this type of equipment): Laptop computer for portability...You can meet people at their home, their office or your home. A printer (preferably a 4 in one machine that prints, scans, copies, and faxes. If you don't own one the Kodak ESP 6150 is low cost both for the machine and the ink). Reliable transportation A cellphone (this can be acquired from MetroPCS from FREE on up to $30 or $40 depending on model you purchase and monthly airtime is very reasonable. Direct sales experience of 1 to 2 years Ability to type 35wpm And most of all a BURNING DESIRE TO SUCCEED because if you don't produce; you don't get paid. This is a legit opportunity. If you process only 126 returns for the entire tax season you'll earn $4800. If you work a little harder and process 200 returns you'll earn $9000 and superstars who process at least 400 returns over the entire tax season will earn $21,000. But you won't earn anything at all sitting home and feeling sorry for yourself. If you are interested in this opportunity, click HERE to apply.
You can read about our company at www.businessconsultingservicesgroup.com
As for your felony situation, there are many companies that will hire felons otherwise people who get released from jails wouldn't last anytime at all on the street.
You mention that you live in the "country." I don't know what that means to you...are you 10 miles from the city or 100? If you're a reasonable distance from a major city I suggest signing up for work from a temporary agency. They can find employers who are willing to hire people with felonies on their record. Plus, most employers won't hire people with felonies related to the line of work they are apply for.
The Salvation Army has a rehab program in place that might be able to offer you some assistance. Check with your local churches. Most offer some kind of outreach program that could possibly help you.
Another option is checking with an attorney to find out how long you have to wait before you can try to have the conviction expunged from your record. If you can get the conviction expunged you won't have to worry about it coming up, unless you apply for jobs with the government or police, fire dept, etc.
Another option is start YOUR OWN business. Is there something your passionate about? Do you have a skill that could be marketed? Sit down and make a list of everything you like or are good at doing. You may surprise yourself. You could be sitting on an idea that could become income producing.
The easiest thing to do is starting thinking better thoughts and stop focusing on what you DO NOT have. The more you focus on what you don't have or what you "need" the more you'll stay without and you'll always be "in need."
Change your attitude and outlook and things will start to change for you.
Here are some source to check to see if you can get some or all of your medications for free or at a lower cost:
I hope these help you. Good luck.
You should try to apply for TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) especially since you're pregnant. The program will help with housing, food and medical.
Here's a link to a site that will give you more info:
I hope this helps you!
Here's is an article about "who" pays for Nursing Home Care. If you mean they'll take "your" assets as in the assets of the parent in the nursing home, that would be correct in the sense the person would have to sell their assets until they have nothing left and then most likely would qualify for medicaid.
As for taking the assets of a child to pay for a parents care, I sincerely believe you misinterpreted the "rules." IF that were true I could foresee the senior citizen homicide rate skyrocketing as most children would NOT tolerate that type of infringement on their life.
HOWEVER, as with any asset that is CO-OWED, that's another story. If you and your parents CO-OWN property and assets, then it could very be required to sell down the assets until th parent has "nothing" left, so he or she will qualify for medicaid.

If you live in CA, TX, or FL the best Dental Insurance I have ever found is called SafeGuard.
Not only do you get dental insurance (it's an HMO) but you also get vision coverage for under $13.00 per month.
The premier coverage is the best. You get free dental cleanings, xrays, etc. No waiting times and very little out of pocket cost for treatments. Fillings only cost around $25 per surface, a root canal will cost around $260 (but many dentists will work with you and do payment plans and some I have found will accept the insurance as full payment and you'll owe nothing) :-)
Then, the vision insurance lets you get an eye exam for only $20.00 out of pocket.
Safeguard shows up when you do comparison shopping on those dental sites, but if you sign up through them you'll a much higher "one time set up fee." By going direct you save on the one time set up fee. Below is the link to SafeGuard Insurance:
I'm sorry you feel people here were rude to you, but I honestly don't feel that was the case.
If you read the way your post was worded (as if you were an outsider with no info to your personal details) and read the part that says your children children cry when they "only" get 2 presents each and they feel that "Santa" doesn't love them, well to an outsider those comments could come across very materialistic and negative. Especially to people who really want to help people who are in need.
This is why people (me included) made comments about Santa and what perhaps was being communicated to your children at Christmas, especially since one child is so little.
Your post also said your hubby can't find work because of the economy and you CANNOT work because you can't afford daycare. Your statement could be construed as meaning that if you had daycare YOU would be able to work.
People here were only offering you some helpful suggestions that perhaps if your hubby watched the kids then you'd be able to get that job you felt you could do if you had daycare.
People (including me) were only commenting based on the wording and tone of your post. It had nothing to do with us needing in-depth family details.
There are a lot of very kind, generous and helpful people on this site. However, if people miscommunicate verbally when talking face to face, imagine how much more difficult it can be when reading an email and not being able to hear the tone or the person.
Hopefully this makes more sense to you and you can understand why you received some of the comments you received.
I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Here's a link to over a dozen organizations that help homeless people in the Bronx, NY with shelter, food, etc. Try calling them and I'm sure you'll find a place that can help you.
Good Luck and take care,
I hope the pictures below bring some Christmas Joy in your lives. I took these pictures a couple of days ago in a neighborhood near me that decorates every year at Christmas time.
Merry Christmas Everyone...Take care of each other and focus on better times ahead!!
with love and light,
Below is the thought of the day for December 25, 2009 from Abraham-Hicks:
You are the creator of your own life experience, and as the creator of your experience, it is important to understand that it is not by virtue of your action, not by virtue of your doing—it is not even by virtue of what you are saying—that you are creating. You are creating by virtue of the thought that you are offering.
You cannot speak or offer action without thought-vibration occurring at the same time; however, you are often offering a thought-vibration without offering words or action. Children or babies learn to mimic the vibration of the adults who surround them long before they learn to mimic their words.
Excerpted from the: Learning to Attract Health, Wealth and Happiness" #299
Jerry and Ester
EVERYONE have a very Merry Christmas!! May everyone realize how blessed we all are even in these times. We all have SO much to be thankful for and appreciative, no matter what our circumstances.
With much love and light,
I saw your post about your dental issues. You should check on gettinga low cost dental plan (they are WAY cheaper than medical insurance). You can find dental plans for as low as $10.00 per month...just make you compare coverage.
After you purchase the plan most offer free dental exames and cleanings..and then charge small fees for services like a filling may cost $25.00 per surface (since a cavity can affect more than one location on a tooth) or they may cover up to 80 or 90% of the cost and the other 10 or 20% you'd have to pay.
I'm lucky, my dentist accepts the insurance as "full payment" for most services and doesn't make me pay the "difference." So, you might find a dentist like that, too.
The link below will give you a several plans to compare so you can choose the best one for you.
Good Luck and Take Care
